Thomas Edward Sackett
(1877–1960)
Thomas Edward Sackett, son of Jabez Sackett and Sarah Anne Young, was born in Walkington, Beverley, Yorkshire, in 1877.1 He died in Pwllheli, Gwynedd, North Wales, in January 1960.2 He married first in Guernsey on 13 June 1901, Florence Edith Le Page, daughter of William John Le Page and Elizabeth Ann Jones. Florence was born on 4 February 1877. She died in Merioneth, Merionethshire, Wales, in 1944.3 He married second at Manchester, Lancashire, in 1946, Winifred Davies.4
     In 1881 Thomas was living at North Gate, Walkington, Yorkshire, and was recorded in the census as Thomas E Sackett, a scholar, aged 3 and born at Walkington, son of Jabez Sackett.5
     In 1891 he was living at 4 Collings Road, St Peter Port, Guernsey, in the household of his father Jabez, and was recorded as Thomas Sackett, a grocer's assistant, aged 18 [actually 13], and born in Yorkshire.6
     In 1901 he was living at Duveaux Lodge, St Sampson's, Guernsey, and was recorded as Thomas E Sackett, a vinery foreman (employed), aged 23 and born in England, the unmarried son of Jabez Sackett.7
