Geoffrey Sackett, maltster of Sandwich, Kent, son of William Sackett and Joan Parker, was born in Margate, Kent, in 1617. He was baptized at St John's Church, Margate, on 30 March 1617.1 He was possibly the Jeffrey Sacket who was buried at St Katherine by the Tower, London, Middlesex on 18 December 1671.2 Although there is no information to suggest he had moved to the City of London, no other death or burial record has been found. He married first at Ash next Sandwich, Kent, on 2 April 1638, Sara Swaine.3 He married second at St Mary Bredin, Canterbury, Kent, on 6 September 1669, Elizabeth (___) Height, having obtained a licence at Canterbury the same day.4,5
Geoffrey was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in Ash on 27 June 1639.6 Geoffrey was left 1/- while his siblings were left substantial amounts. It is not clear whether this derisory bequest was a calculated insult or whether Geoffrey had been otherwise provided for during his father's lifetime.
Geoffrey was named as a beneficiary in his brother Robert's will made in Herne, Kent, on 14 November 1658.7 He was left a sum of £1.
