Charles Homer Sackett, son of Charles Marion Sackett and Elmira "Myra" Fanning, was born in Carrollton, Greene County, IllinoisG, on 3 December 1895.1,2 He died aged 62 in East St Louis, St Clair County, IllinoisG, on 16 December 1957 and was buried at Valhalla Gardens, Belleville, St Clair CountyG.3 He married in about 1918, Grace ___.1
     In 1900 Charles was living in Woodville, Greene County, IllinoisG, in the household of her parents Charles and Myra, and was recorded in the census as Charles H Sackett, aged four and born in Illinois.4
     In 1910 Charles was living at Locust Street, Eldred Village, Bluffdale, Greene CountyG, in the household of his parents Charles and Myra, and was recorded in the census as Homer Sackett, aged 14 and born in Illinois.5
     Charles completed a World War I draft registration card on 2 June 1917. He was single, aged 21, and was employed as a craneman on a dredge boat. He was living in Carrollton, Greene CountyG.6
     In 1930 he was living at Cleveland Avenue, East St Louis, St Clair County, IllinoisG, and was recorded as Charles H Sackett, a letter carrier, head of household, aged 34. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Grace, 31, and their children, Helen, 11, Charles Jr, 9, Adrian, 7, and Norman, aged three.7
     Charles completed a World War II draft registration card on 27 April 1942. He was then aged 46 and was living at 1746 Ohio Avenue, East St Louis, St Clair County, IllinoisG, with his wife Grace. He was a US Post Office employee.2
