Sackett Adams, a blacksmith, son of Josiah Adams and Mary Sackett Watson Horton, was born in Monkton, KentG, in 18121 and baptized there on 3 May 1812.2,3 He died there aged 724,5 and was buried at St Mary Magdalene Church, MonktonG, on 20 June 1884.6,7 He married at St Mary Magdalene ChurchG on 12 August 1830, Mary Hogbin, daughter of Thomas Hogbin and Sarah ___.2,8 Mary was born in MonktonG in about 18041 and baptized there on 29 January 1804.9 She died there aged 78 on 17 July 1882 and was buried at St Mary Magdalene Church, MonktonG.7
     In 1851 Sackett was living in MonktonG and was recorded in the census as Sackett Adams, a blacksmith, head of household, married, aged 39 and born in Monkton. Living with him were his wife Mary, 47, and their children, Emma, 20, and Frederick, aged 13.10
     In 1861 he was living at Monkton Street, MonktonG, and was recorded as Sackett Adams, a blacksmith employing three men, head of household, aged 49 and born in Monkton. Living with him was his wife Mary, aged 57.11
     In 1871 he was living at Monkton Street, MonktonG, and was recorded as Sackett Adams, a blacksmith, head of household, married, aged 59 and born in Monkton. Living with him was his wife Mary, aged 67.12
     In 1881 he was living at Main Road, MonktonG, and was recorded as Sackett Adams, a retired blacksmith, head of household, married, aged 69 and born in Monkton. Living with him was his wife Mary, aged 77.13
     Sackett Adams was recorded as "the person responsible for the funeral" of his grandson and namesake in January 1884, five months before his own death.
     Sackett Adams made a will which was proved at Canterbury, KentG, on 25 July 1884. His personal estate was valued at £443.14
