Charles Sackett, son of John Henry Sackett and Elizabeth Catherine Meinert, was born in Bermondsey, SurreyG, in 18471 and died aged 55 in Lambeth, LondonG, in 1901.2 He married in LambethG in 1866, Esther Haradine.3,4 She was born in Cambridge in about 18405 and died aged 84 in Wandsworth, LondonG, in 1924.6
     In 1851 Charles was living at 14 Moreton Terrace, Rotherhithe, SurreyG, in the household of his parents John, a barge builder, and Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as Chas. Sackett, aged 4, and born in Bermondsey.7
     In 1881 he was living at 6 Pleasant Place, Lambeth, SurreyG, and was recorded as Charles Sackett, a general labourer, head of household, married, aged 37, and born in Rotherhithe, Surrey. Living with him were his wife Esther, aged 38, and born in Cambridge, and children Sarah, 14, Esther, 11, Amelia, 9, and Eliza, aged six, all born in Kennington.8
     In 1891 he was living at 6 Pleasant Place, St James, Kennington, SurreyG, and was recorded as Charles Sackett, a bottler's labourer, head of household, aged 48, and born in Bermondsey. Living with him were his wife Esther, aged 47 and born in Cambridge, and their daughter Eliza, aged 16.9
     In 1901 he was living at 38 Opal Street, Kennington, Lambeth, LondonG, and was recorded as Charles Sackett, a packing case maker, head of household, aged 52. His wife Esther, 53, was living with him.10
