Ansel Lloyd Sackett Sr, son of Edwin Sackett and Clarissa Beckwith, was born in MichiganG on 8 October 1876. He died after 1880. He married on 7 August 1918, Evelyn Hickey.1
In 1920 Ansel was living in Detroit, Wayne County, MichiganG, and was recorded in the census as Ansel L Sackett, a self-employed home furnace supplier, head of household, aged 43. He owned his home on a mortgage. Living with him were his wife Evelyn, 33, and their son Ansel L Jr, aged seven months.2
In 1930 he was living at North Martindale Avenue, DetroitG, and was recorded as Ansel L Sackett, an installer of furnaces, head of household, aged 42 [53]. He owned his home. Living with him were his wife Evelyn, 32 [43], and their son Ansel Jr, aged ten. Ansel's and Evelyn's ages were understated by eleven years, an enumeration error where their ages at marriage were mistaken for their ages at the census date.3
