Grove Sackett, son of Solomon Sackett and Melissa Fargo, was born in Colebrook, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG, on 18 March 1851.1 He died aged about 74 in ColebrookG in 1925 and was buried at the Center Cemetery, ColebrookG.2 He married first on 25 December 1879, Kate Louise Rockwell, daughter of P B Rockwell.1 Kate was born on 29 June 1850.3,4 Kate died aged 34 in West Winsted, Litchfield CountyG, on 21 October 18845 and was buried at the Center Cemetery, Colebrook, Litchfield CountyG, (or at Forest View Cemetery, Winchester, Litchfield, where there is also a memorial inscription.)3,4 He married second on 7 July 1888, Anna Edith Ray.1 Anna died in Crawford, Monmouth County, New JerseyG, in January 1924.6
     In 1860 Grove was living in Sandisfield, Berkshire County, MassachusettsG, in the household of his parents Solomon and Melissa, and was recorded in the census as Grove Sackett, aged nine and born in Massachusetts.7
     In 1870 he was living in Colebrook, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG, in the household of his parents Solomon and Melissa, and was recorded as Grove Sackett, aged 19.8
     By their mother's will, made in Winchester, Litchfield CountyG, on 9 August 1909, Grove and his brother Frank were left half shares in her estate, valued at $36,000.9
