Hiram Sackett, son of Joel Sackett and Betsey Husted, was born in New York on 6 December 1812.1 He died after 1900.1 He married on 6 December 1834, Millicent Smith.1 Millicent was born in New York in August 1816.2
     In 1880 Hiram was living in Irving, Chautauqua County, New York, and was recorded in the census as Hiram Sacket, a surveyor, head of household, married, aged 65 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Millicent, 63, their son George, 31, and daughter-in-law Catherine, 23, with their children, Nellie, 4, and Howard, aged nine months, and Hiram and Millicent's son Fred, aged 20.3
     In 1900 he was living in Hanover, Chautauqua County, and was recorded as Hiram Sackett, aged 89 and born in New York. He was living with wife Milicent, 83, to whom he had been married for 63 years, in the household of his son George and daughter-in-law Catherine.4
