William James Sackett, son of William Sackett and Lydia Hooff, was born in Rotherhithe, SurreyG, on 18 April 18081 and baptized at St Mary's Church, RotherhitheG, on 8 May 1808.1 He died aged 372 and was buried at St Mary's Church, RotherhitheG, on 12 December 1845.3 He married at St Mary's Church, Newington, SurreyG, on 23 July 1832, Mary Ann Hancock.4 She was born in about 1815.5
     In 1841 William was living at Queens Street, Rotherhithe, SurreyG, and was recorded in the census as William Sackett, a labourer, aged 32 and born in Surrey. Living with him was his wife Mary Ann, aged 26.5
