William James Sackett, son of George Edward Sackett and Rosa Wilson, was born in Ramsgate, KentG, on 6 June 19071,2,3 and baptized at Ramsgate Christ ChurchG on 14 July 1907.1 He died aged about 70 in Thanet, KentG, in 1978.4 He married in ThanetG in 1933, Lilian G "Lily" Euden, a second cousin, daughter of Arthur T Euden and Kate Amelia Sackett.5,6
     In 1911 William was living at 26 Hastings Avenue, Margate, KentG, in the household of his parents George and Rosa, and was recorded in the census as William Sackett, aged three and born in Ramsgate.7
     In 1921 he was living at 7 Beatrice Road, MargateG, in the household of his parents George and Rosa, and was recorded as William J Sackett, aged 14.8
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, William and Lilian were living at 7 Beatrice Road, Margate, KentG. William was a public works contractor's labourer. His parents George and Rosa were living with them.9
