Abner Sacket, son of Noble Sacket and Olive Watkins, was born in MassachusettsG in about 1820.1,2 He died aged about 67 in Shelburne Falls, Franklin County, MassachusettsG, on 21 August 18873 and was buried at Arms Cemetery, Shelburne FallsG.4 He married in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 22 November 1840, Electa Dewey, daughter of Caleb Dewey and Lucretia Phelps.1,5 Electa was born in WestfieldG on 25 December 1821.6 She died aged 44 in Buckland, Franklin CountyG, on 5 December 18667 and was buried at Arms Cemetery, Shelburne FallsG.4
     Abner was listed in the 1840 census as a householder in Springfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG.8
     In 1850 Abner was living in Chicopee, Hampden CountyG, and was recorded in the census as Abner Sackett, a blacksmith, aged 30, and born in Massachusetts. Living with him were his wife Electa, aged 28, and born in Massachusetts, and their children, Noble, 10, Henry, 8, Mary, 6, and George, aged four.9
     In 1860 he was living at Buckland, Franklin County, MassachusettsG, and was recorded as Abner Sackett, a blacksmith, aged 39. Living with him were his wife Electa, 38, and their children, Noble, 19, Mary, 15, George, 13, and James, aged seven.10
     Abner registered for the Civil War draft in June 1863. He was a blacksmith of Buckland, MassachusettsG, aged 44 and born in Massachusetts.11
     In 1880 he was living in Buckland, Franklin County, MassachusettsG, and was recorded as Abner Sackett, a blacksmith, head of household, a widower, aged 60 and born in Massachusetts. Living with him was his daughter-in-law Mary who was aged 26 and born in Ireland.12
