Lois Marie Ayer, 72, of Newark Valley, died Friday, January 25, 2002, at her winter residence in Eustis, Florida. She is survived by her husband, Warren J. Ayer; two sons and daughters-in-law, Warren J. Jr. and Linda Ayer, Colechester, Vermont, Dean J. and Lisa Ayer, Pfafftown, North Carolina; four brothers, Samuel Sackett, Apalachin, Harold Sackett, Owego, Edwin Sackett, Endicott, Lester Sackett, Newark Valley; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Lois was a retired administrative assistant with I.B.M., a member of the Union Center United Methodist Church, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the United States Power Squadron. The Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. The Rev. R. Brown Naik, Pastor of the Union Center United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
